Scott Twitchell, executive vice president of sales at Clark Insurance, has been elected to the agency’s board of directors. Twitchell is responsible for the strategic growth of the Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts markets as a member of the management team. He started his insurance career with Banknorth Insurance and eventually became part of the leadership team that grew to be TD Banknorth Insurance, TD Insurance, and most recently USI Insurance Services, before leaving to join Clark. Twitchell graduated from Bowdoin College and has attended executive MBA classes through Boston University and the University of Southern Maine.

Swain is a professor emerita at Dartmouth College and is dedicated to helping Maine youth succeed, and is especially interested in fostering students’ skills, health, self-confidence and ambition. Mason currently serves as the vice president of human resources for General Dynamics’ Bath Iron Works.

They are Amy Boles, director of the Hancock County Technical Center, a career and technical education center serving high school students in the Ellsworth area; Michael Cato, who leads information technology strategy and operations at Bowdoin College as senior vice president and chief information officer; and Ellen Halliday, superintendent of schools at RSU 29 in Aroostook County. Educate Maine’s efforts focus on ensuring college and career readiness for all Maine people, and the incoming board members bring diverse education backgrounds and experiences from all over the state that will add to its leadership group.

WWE, primarily known for its professional wrestling broadcasts, announced Tuesday that Barstool Sports CEO Erika Nardini is joining its board.


Nardini has headed Barstool, a sports and pop culture blog founded by Dave Portnoy, since 2016. She oversaw the partnership with one of Barstool’s primary investors, Penn National Gaming, which acquired 36 percent of the company for roughly $163 million in cash earlier this year and launched Barstool Sportsbook.

The deal valued Barstool at $450 million and positioned the casino operator to take a majority stake in the company in the future.

“Erika is a seasoned executive with a tremendous track record of building businesses, developing experiences and engaging different audiences across the media ecosystem,” Vince McMahon, WWE chairman and CEO, said in a statement. “Her entrepreneurial spirit, business acumen and understanding of today’s consumers will serve as a perfect addition to our board of directors.”

Nardini has launched more than 35 brands, including breakout franchises in sports, entertainment, female lifestyle, business and sports-betting under Barstool.

She also spearheaded the development of more than 1,500 social accounts, a radio channel on SiriusXM and a flavored vodka in North America called Pink Whitney.

WWE has taken major hits during the coronavirus pandemic, with dozens of employees and talent testing positive for the virus, halting production in the summer.

The media company’s shares were down 45% in September from a year earlier, a decline set off by the unexpected ousting of WWE’s two co-presidents and board members George Barrios and Michelle Wilson in January.

Criteser is president and chief executive officer of the Tillamook County Creamery Association, a national dairy co-operative headquartered in Oregon owned by nearly 80 farming families. Prior to that, he was president and chief executive officer of Coffee Bean International.
